Outdoor Recreation and Solomon Center are teaming up for a Family Gingerbread House design and build competition. Families are invited to design and build a gingerbread house from either scratch or from one of the provided kits for the chance to win and have their Gingerbread House announced at the Garrison Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 2!
Register and pick up your free Gingerbread kits from The Solomon Center, Outdoor Recreation, and the library starting November 1 while supplies last. Full rules and requirements will be given upon registration. All completed Gingerbread Houses will be turned in at the Solomon Center no later than November 28 to be entered into the final judging. Every Saturday and Sunday in November: Family Practice Time at the Fort Jackson Golf Club.
Families will receive a free bucket of balls to sharpen their skills. Check in at the golf shop to get your range balls. Family practice time is Saturdays and Sundays after 1 p.m. See you at the club soon!

Water group exercise designed for Special population uses modified moves for individuals who may have limitations such as: hip replacement, poor circulation, pregnant, etc. Since these classes are slower, they are also great for Seniors. (Special populations, seniors)

Bring in the clothes you no longer want or need to the Recycling Center. Men’s, women’s, and children's clothing is accepted. Clothes must be clean, free of tears and stains, and in good used condition. Bring your items 10:30-11 a.m. on Nov. 30 for sorting. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. swap them for something else! You will be given one ticket for each item you bring. “Pay” for your selections with your tickets (1 ticket per item). Any items remaining at 1:30 p.m. may be claimed without tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. All unclaimed items will be donated.
Total body weight training utilizing kettle bells or free weights. Open to all levels. Provided through Facebook Live.
Total Upper body and CORE workout – Suitable for all fitness levels. Offered at Coleman Gym and on Facebook Live.
Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, 5- 7 p.m., Patriots’ Park. This annual holiday celebration features artificial snow play area, ice carving demonstration, children’s activities, holiday music, and food trucks. And most importantly, a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
